I just saw the finalists for the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing. Looks like some interesting books, but I can't help but notice that the list doesn't have any works by historians.
The official details are here, but here is the list:
BarricadesPublished by Goose Lane Editions
Taras Grescoe for Straphanger: Saving Our Cities and Ourselves from the AutomobilePublished by HarperCollins Publishers
Jeffrey Simpson for Chronic Condition: Why Canada’s Health-Care System Needs to be Dragged into the 21st Century Published by Allen Lane Canada
Peter F. Trent for The Merger Delusion: How Swallowing Its Suburbs Made an Even Bigger Mess of MontrealPublished by McGill-Queen’s University Press
